Dr. Marc Valitutto is a veterinarian with a unique background that bridges general practice, exotic animal medicine, and global wildlife health. He completed his four-year residency in zoological medicine and surgery with the Wildlife Conservation Society and Cornell University, where he received advanced training in the care of exotic species, wildlife, and zoo animals. He has worked around the world caring for everything from parrots and pangolins to pandas.
Before joining Lenox Hill Veterinarians, Dr. Valitutto served as a wildlife veterinarian for the Smithsonian’s Global Health Program and was the general curator and veterinarian for the Staten Island Zoo. He has spent over a decade training veterinarians abroad, responding to disease outbreaks, and advancing animal welfare through international conservation programs.
At Lenox Hill, Dr. Valitutto enjoys applying that same level of care to dogs, cats, and exotic pets here in New York City. His clinical interests include internal medicine, geriatric feline care, and the husbandry and treatment of exotic companion animals like birds, reptiles, and rabbits.
A lifelong New Yorker, Dr. Valitutto now splits his time between international consulting and small animal practice. Outside of work, you can find him running along the East River, experimenting with sourdough recipes, or exploring the city with his dog.
